With Disney, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber on the agenda, Selena Gomez may be covering the same old ground when it comes to interview questions.
But the brunette beauty, 23, seemed to have matured on the style front when it came to her brooding new photoshoot for British InStyle, on sale this December.
Covering the edgy fashion title with ‘indie-film starlet on a road trip’ styling – in the words of the magazine’s Fashion Director Arabella Greenhill – Selena strips back her image, leaves behind her bra and evokes total spring/summer 2016 wardrobe envy.
Pared down: Selena Gomez strips back her image as she covers the new issue of British InStyle with a brooding new shoot
Between her seriously saucy Victoria’s Secret appearance and raunchy new Hands To Myself music video, Selena has experienced something of a fashion emancipation in recent .
Speaking to the magazine, she was quick to defend her choice to pose nude on the cover of Revivial in direct response to online criticism she received about her body image.
‘It hurt my feelings because I never experienced that before,’ she said. ‘But I didn’t want [that] to be the story, so i said, “I don’t care what you think!”‘

Evidently, the newfound bravado has carried over into her personal style too as she adds: ‘I’m learning that you can be comfortable and still look beautiful.
For the new editorial, shot by photographer Jeff Hahn at a Los Angeles motel, Selena samples a more pared-down, slightly earthier look in line with the conflict she feels when, ‘Some days, I like what I see. Other days I’m like, “I’m not even going to bother”.’
She pictured in black and white in a simple white vest top and low-rise jeans, forgoing her bra and abandoning her typically polished hair and make-up look.
In another shot, the sultry star is pictured reclining on the hotel room floor in her nightwear with her raven tresses fanned out.
She dismisses questions about her seemingly, recently-rekindled romance with teen sweetheart Justin, saying: ‘I’m just tired of talking about it. I never intended for my life to become a tabloid story.’
Though, in a reflection of her more grown-up image, the 23-year-old admits she’s interested in dating older men.
‘I feel like I look 16 sometimes,’ she said. ‘Which is a bummer because I would love to date older guys.’
On the subject of dating, Selena admitted, ‘I hate it,’ even though if it was Zayn Malik who was asking she’d be more inclined.
‘If he [Zayn] had asked me out on a date, I would be seen with him. Just kidding, but not kidding,’
