Dr Mehmet Oz’s first granddaughter Philomena made her debut on his talk show this afternoon in the arms of mom Daphne.
‘I’m obsessed with being a new grandfather. If you ever saw [Philomena] in person you would see an uncanny resemblance,’ he said of the two month old, before she came on stage as a surprise for the audience.
‘Well now you can, because she is here!’ the 53-year-old host announced.

Amazed: Philomena stared in awe of the studio’s bright lights and live audience
Out came The Chew co-host and Dr Oz’s 28-year-old daughter Daphne with Philomena in her arms.
‘She’s looking around like “where is this?”’ Daphne said of Philomena’s puzzled face.
The infant looked into the studio’s bright lights and gazed at the live audience with sleepy amazement – surprisingly not even making a peep!
Daphne, who has been married to college sweetheart John Jovanovic since 2010, announced new vitals about Philomena’s growth.
Quiet child: Philomena barely made a peep during the taping – something her mom chalks up to a proper feeding and rest
In love: Dr Oz says that he cannot believe how much affection he has for the two-month-old, and that he loves babysitting her
‘We went to her check-up yesterday. She is eleven-and-a-half pounds,’ she said.
‘It’s so weird, as a mom, I have never been so excited about burps, poops, and weight gain in my life and it was thrilling for me,’ Daphne said about the doctor’s visit.
Of Dr Oz’s skills as a grandfather, she said to him: ‘It’s every mom’s dream to have a dad like you around.’
She added that he is a ‘speed demon’ at changing diapers.
New vitals: Philomena just visited the doctor where it was discovered that she now weighs 11.5lbs
‘The most important part is I can give her back,’ Dr Oz said of his love for babysitting Philomena.
Philomena only cried for a brief moment during the taping – a feat Daphne chalks up to rest and a proper feeding.
‘She is an Oz after all – if you feed her and she gets some sleep, she is a happy kid,’ she said.
While some may think that Daphne picked her daughter’s name based on the title of the 2013 movie, Philomena (starring Judi Dench and Steeve Coogan), she explained of the choice: ‘Believe it or not I didn’t know about the movie when John and I were picking names.
Hidden talent: Daphne says that her dad is a ‘speed demon’ at changing diapers
‘Because we didn’t know what we were having it was going to be Junior if it was a boy and if it were a girl we loved that name [Philomena].
‘It was just old fashioned enough that she wouldn’t run into 50 Philomenas in her kindergarten class. We made sure that there were cute nicknames for her, and kept it very personal for her.’
