A relaxed and pregnant Chelsea Clinton touched down in Los Angeles this morning after a big week of honors: the biggest of which was receiving her doctorate degree from Oxford University.
Looking effortless in a Burberry trench coat, jeans and ballet flats, the 34-year-old showed off her growing baby bump as she left the terminal, making her way to the the National Center for Women and Information Technology Summit.
‘Looking forward to discussing women in technology and #NoCeilings today at #NCWITsummit!,’ she tweeted after landing.

The expectant mother, who is due to give birth in the fall, flew in from New York where she was honored by The Fortune Society for her work with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, just a week after her doctorate graduation ceremony in last Saturday.
The former First Daughter began working on a doctorate degree on global governance structures in 2011 and completed most of the coursework from New York, where she and her husband Marc Mezvinsky live.
The graduation ceremony was the first big accomplishment in a year that is expected to be full of milestones for the political family – and not just with the birth of Chelsea’s first child.
Her mother, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is largely seen as the front runner in the Democratic field for the 2016 presidential race and though she has not officially declared her bid, that is expected after the midterm elections this fall.

Like her father, she first went to Oxford to get her master’s degree immediately after her undergraduate studies at Stanford University.
She returned to the U.S. after finishing her master’s in 2003, but then started a second degree at the school in 2011.
She has been working on the dissertation focusing on international global governance structures with a focus on global health.
Chelsea has also taken a much more active role in the family’s charitable foundation this year and was named vice chairwoman of the organization.

After disembarking at LAX, Chelsea tweeted: ‘Disappointed congress is considering easing nutrition guidelines. Healthy food is key inside & outside the classroom,’ a comment on the fact that this week, House Republicans are introducing a bill that would undo much of the progress schools have made in offering healthier lunches since 2012.
Bill Clinton, who got his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. before winning a Rhodes Scholarship to study philosophy, politics and economics at University College at Oxford from 1968 until 1970, recently joked about how academically ambitious his daughter was during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
‘She’ll have as many (degrees) as her parents do – combined,’ joked the former president, who
never recieved a degree from the school because he left early and returned to the U.S. to study law at Yale, where he would meet his soon-to-be wife.
‘When she was younger, the way all kids are, she thought she knew more than I did about everything. But alas, in my dotage, it turned out to be true!’
