She’s a Hollywood icon, and has enjoyed a glittering career spanning an impressive five decades.
And after clocking up yet another appearance at the Cannes Film Festival when she dazzled on the red carpet at the Grace Of Monaco premiere on Wednesday night, Jane Fonda has opened up on her beauty secrets – joking that she is the ‘oldest living ambassador for skincare’.
The 76-year-old screen siren is in the French Riviera in her capacity as a spokesmodel for French cosmetics company L’Oreal, and revealed that she ensures she is camera-ready at all times by getting plenty of shut-eye.

Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she said: ‘Sleep is my survival tip, it’s the hardest and most essential thing.’
The Oscar-winning actress also discussed how the Cannes Film Festival has changed since she first started attending the iconic movie event many moons ago, explaining all eyes are on ‘fashion and jewellery’ nowadays.
She added: ‘For eight years I was married to a French film director and we used to come a lot. Cannes has changed a lot, it never used to be as much about fashion and jewellery and all the accessories.

‘Twenty or thirty years ago I wouldn’t be here working for a company like L’Oreal, they just didn’t have that then. But it’s fun to be able to come back in that capacity.’
She joked: ‘I’m the oldest living ambassador for skincare in the world and in history!’
Fonda made her red carpet debut at the 67th Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday night when she joined the likes of Nicole Kidman, Blake Lively and Kendall Jenner at the opening gala premiere of Grace Of Monaco.

Putting her much younger attendees to shame with her rather dazzling choice of ensemble, the screen starlet utterly dazzled in a ruby red semi-sheer beaded gown by Elie Saab.
Wearing her honey blonde locks coiffed to perfection, the movie goddess completed her striking ensemble with dramatic winged eyeliner and a slick of ruby red lipstick.
Premiering on Friday at the 67th annual Cannes Film Festival on Friday are How To Train Your Dragon – starring Cate Blanchett – and The Captive, starring Rosario Dawson and Ryan Reynolds.
Here she comes! Fonda arrived at Nice Airport on Tuesday afternoon before hitting the red carpet later that night.
